Employer or intrapreneur? What is the difference?


Employer or intrapreneurThe entrepreneurs are risk takers who were set the challenge of creating his own business as a vehicle through which you can take a new product or service to market. While not all entrepreneurs are innovators, a large part of entrepreneurship is about adopting an innovative product or service to market.

You can perform many acts similar to those businessmen , but they tend to do so without personal financial risk. Intrapreneurs live within established organizations and while your ego can be nicked and indeed their career prospects can be dented if your project intrapreneurial not work, it is not likely to suffer the financial consequences that happen to the business when company fails. The business lost homes, domestic entrepreneurs lose points in their career development. However, if the elements of professional development are critical for us, then you can be so important.

And yet the world of organizational life requires both employers and domestic entrepreneurs. Most commentators will refer to the essential contribution of small-sized businesses make to the economy and community. Small businesses account for between 50 and 90% of companies in a nation and are the source of employment for millions of people. Without the “employer” who is driven, and will, the creation of an independent company, the world’s economy basically stop. However, we must also recognize that the larger organizations (who receive an unfair share of media attention) also play an important role in providing employment and contribute to the development of society. The difficulty is that large organizations find it difficult to capture the creativity of most employees. The crisis in many smaller companies is that they have difficulties to convert an innovative idea into a business that can survive and prosper.

The important thing for those of us whose work is related to promoting entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship is that we can appreciate the difference and recognize that the economic prosperity of a city, region, nation is based on the ability to promote both. Larger organizations will slowly but surely, dying wrinkled a failure to adapt to new times. It is the internal entrepreneurs within the organization who make things happen. Governments have a responsibility to create a climate in which entrepreneurs can thrive. Larger organizations are responsible for creating the environment in which entrepreneurs can flourish internally for this to work in both contexts governments, regional development agencies and management teams of large organizations need to know how to create this support and enabling environment.
